THE DREAMS OF JOSEPH

LES RÊVES DE JOSEPH

INTRODUCTION

Modern men in the civilized world place little value in dreams these days.

They rely on their human intellect to navigate in life while ignoring man’s indispensable reliance on the spirit world.

Contemporary people use statistics before making their next move while our counterparts in the ancient world depended on the revelation from the spirit world in all their endeavors.

If the spirit world truly exists, then  the ones who deny it only vent their  ignorance.

The ancient world from which we get all our knowledge of plants, metals, chemistry, astronomy and all the other sciences, fully relied on the spirit world for revelation and tutoring on how to subdue and manage our environment.

Many so-called scientific discoveries are only copy and paste.

Some breakthrough inventions are patented on the same day in opposite sides of the word by unrelated people.

Only one third of our make-up is physical, the rest is spiritual.

When the body is fully stabilized at sleep, the soul and the spirit of a human being can permeate other realms.

Sometimes God can communicate with the spirit of man while the body is awake.

Stephen was in heaven contemplating God while his body was being stoned on earth.

Dreams and visions allow us human to be fully operational as co-members of the spirit family.

Paul was able hear Jesus on the road of Damascus while his companions only saw the light.

Ancient men believed universally in dreams.

The purposes of dreams are manifolds.

To warn from danger.

To communicate God’s order.

To engage in spiritual warfare.

To know the future.

To know about opportunities and upcoming assignments.

To reveal secrets.

To communicate God’s answers.

To identify key people

To permeate the spiritual world.

To partake in divine operations.

To communicate wisdom in specific situations.

Dreams can also be a reflex of one’s own imagination or an independent engagement of the mind while sleeping.

Symbolism in dreams

Most dream are symbolic

The ability to interpret dream is also a spiritual gift.

Dreams and visions are not limited to Christians.

Demons are very active in the lives of people through dreams.

Should Christians be very reliant on dreams now? The answer is no.

The Bible is the most trusted means to know the will of God.

Christians should however be opened for God to communicate with them in whatsoever way He chooses.

All dreams must undergo the scrutiny of the Holy Scriptures before considered of God.

No dream of God would contradict the Bible.

No dream of God would lead to sin.

Christians with whom God communicates often through dreams must have discernments, for Satan can also communicate with them in that same platform.

All Christians must try not to impose what they see in dream upon others.

Dreams are usually for personal purposes.

No Christian can know the day of the return of Christ because that information is sealed.

All the major false religions and cults claim to have received revelations from God as their validations.

THE DREAMS OF JOSEPH

We know that Joseph was a teenager when he had those dreams.

A mature person knows what to share with others and what not to share.

Joseph’s dreams were not hard to interpret.

This was God’s first attempts to communicate with Joseph.

While Jacob’s family was successful but Joseph’s success will surpass that of all his brothers.

The dream is about authority and dominion.

God was conferring to Joseph that he was going to be so highly elevated above his brothers that they will be bow in his presence.

God is the one who destines the ranks and functions of all people.

Joseph did not do anything to deserve his glorious destiny; he was just a recipient of God’s favor like the rest of us.

If Joseph understood the full implication of the dream, then he was wrong for sharing it with his brothers.

The second dream of Joseph was even more grandiose and thought provoking than the first.

The sun and the moon and 11 stars kneeling before Joseph.

That dream too was too graphic and too direct to share with others.

His brothers might have thought their father Jacob was to blame for Joseph’s attitude by his preferential treatment of him over his siblings.

Joseph’s brothers might have thought that the boy grew up thinking he was superior to everyone and consequently,  began to dream in that pattern.

The dreams were to elevate Joseph’s spirit to the task that God had in mind because Joseph was a God fearing person.

Joseph left home with higher moral and spiritual ethics than his brothers.

At some point in time God has to show his chosen the shadows of their future.

Gideon had to know that he was a mighty warrior in spite of his insecurity.

CONCLUSION

Never allow yourself to be jealous over somebody because God is using him or her mightily.

Seek to know your own calling and be faithful to it.

God is no respecter of person, He only bestows talents and grace upon people based on their assignments in life.

We need to complement each other and not competing each other.

The first murder in the bible was fueled by jealousy.

Joseph nearly got killed by his brothers for no offense of his but for jealousy sake.

God is still communicating through dream.

Write your dreams down.

Tell others about your dreams selectively.

Pray to God for further clarifications in other means.

AMEN!
