Dans ma détresse, c’est à l’Éternel Que je crie, et il m’exauce

In my trouble my cry went up to the Lord, and he gave me an answer.

Lè m’ te nan tray, mwen te rele Seyè a, li te reponn mwen.

Psaume 120

1. ¹Cantique des degrés. Dans ma détresse, c’est à l’Éternel Que je crie, et il m’exauce.

2. ²Éternel, délivre mon âme de la lèvre mensongère, De la langue trompeuse!

3. ³Que te donne, que te rapporte Une langue trompeuse?

4. ⁴Les traits aigus du guerrier, Avec les charbons ardents du genêt.

5. ⁵Malheureux que je suis de séjourner à Méschec, D’habiter parmi les tentes de Kédar!

6. ⁶Assez longtemps mon âme a demeuré Auprès de ceux qui haïssent la paix.

7. ⁷Je suis pour la paix; mais dès que je parle, Ils sont pour la guerre.

Que signifie cantique des degrés (15 en total)

Degrés—monter en haut—15 marches d’escalier du temple

Monter les montagnes.

1. • Personne ne sait

     1. Peut être c’était des chants que les enfants d’Israël chantaient au cours de leur pèlerinage vers Jérusalem pour les saintes convocations annuelles.

     2. On dit que c’est peut être de la tonalité des notes.

     3. On dit c’est peut être de leur position par rapport au Psaume 119 qui est le plus long des Psaumes de la Bible.

     4. Quatre (4) sont attribues a David.

     5. Un (1) a Salomon

     6. Esdras, Aggée, Zacharie, Malachie, Anonyme.

     7. Date de rédaction de ces Psaumes est variée (126, 129) sont rédiges quelque temps plus tard que le reste.

Auteur et Occasion du Psaume 120.

1. • On veut croire que ce psaume est de David

   • Ecrit à l’occasion de la trahison de Doeg qui informa à Saul que le sacrificateur avait donné du pain et l’épée à David. Ps 52 (fuite de David)

   • Qui par suite causa Saul d’exterminer tous les le grand Prêtre et toute sa famille.

   • Après la victoire sur Goliath le Philistin, David devint un héros en Israël.

   • David était aimé du peuple plus que Saül.

   • David fut choisit par Dieu et oindre par le grand prophète Samuel pour devenir le roi d’Israël.

   • David devenait Genre du roi Saül et chef de l’armée d’Israël.

   • Les exploits de David avec Dieu causa l’insécurité, la haine et la jalousie chez Saül.

   • L’exécution de David semblait être le seul garant de la prolongation de la dynastie de Saül.

   • Les gens qui succèdent dans la vie se font innocemment et automatiquement un grand nombre d’ennemis sans le vouloir et bien des fois, sans le savoir.

   • Au lieu d’être couronné de gloire pour sa bravoure et ses victoires, David était plutôt récompensé par des menaces sur sa vie.

   • Returning from the Vietnam War, some Soldiers were dismayed to see the kind of welcome back they got after having put their lives on the line for their country.

   • To many soldiers, the scars of the shameful welcome home remain greater than all ills they may have suffered from the battlefield.

The Distresses of David

1. • David was accustomed to stress.

   • David was accustomed to setbacks
   • David was accustomed to discouragement
   • David was accustomed to confusion.

Dans ma détresse, c’est à l’Éternel Que je crie, et il m’exauce.

Quand on dit Détresse, on voit :

• Malheur, calamité, angoisse—Désastre, drame, épreuve,

• Infortune, fatalité, malchance—Adversité, affliction, catastrophe,

• Perte, ruine, misère, indigence—Pauvreté , besoin, dénuement,

• Ennui—Confusion, échec, déception, dépression

• Souffrance émotionnelle—souffrance morale,

• souffrance spirituelle—souffrance physique,

• Etre au déboire—être au désespoir,

• Mal-cite, pale-mal, tet-chage, tourment,

• headhache,

PSALM 120 A TESTIMONIAL PSALM

• Psalm 120 is a personal psalm.
• It indicates a specific person going through specific trials and in the midst of them discovered the faithfulness of God.
• Everyone process trials in different ways.
• Some take it all in and try to sort their way out.
• Some try to cry their way out of problems.
• Some try to drink their way out of problem
• Some try to eat their way out problems
• Some wreck their way out of problems.
• Some try to ignore their way out of problems as if the problems will go away by themselves.
• Some try to kill themselves out of problems.
• As strange as it may sound, we all have our own peculiar ways to sort ourselves out of the vicissitudes of life.
• In psalm 120, when we read it in length, we found that the author was facing some life threatening situations and have found recourse in God almighty.

Ps 120:1 ¶ <A Song of the going up.> In my trouble my cry went up to the Lord, and he gave me an answer.

2 O Lord, be the saviour of my soul from false lips, and from the tongue of deceit.

3 What punishment will he give you? what more will he do to you, you false tongue?

4 Sharp arrows of the strong, and burning fire.

5 ¶ Sorrow is mine because I am strange in Meshech, and living in the tents of Kedar.

6 My soul has long been living with the haters of peace.

7 I am for peace: but when I say so, they are for war.

• The problems of the authors had to do with the negative behaviors of the people who were parts of his life or who surrounded him.
• He was facing slanderers, false accusations, liars, haters and cheaters
• He was facing troublemakers, war hungry people, bullies, arrogant and proud people.
• He was facing restlessness, anxiety and fear.
• He was feeling trap in the wrong side of the Ray Road Track.
• His desire to live in peace was just an illusion because of the kind of people who surrounded him.

PROPER REACTION TO DISTRESSES

• What do you do if life seems to squeeze you in and you have nowhere to turn?
• If your car is running empty, you run to the gas station.
• If you want to advance in education, you run to school.
• If you are hungry, you run home or to a restaurant.
• When life is getting too complicated for you, you need to run to God.
• Some of us have God size problems and they can easily explode our brains
• The common problems we face these days can easily send someone to the psychiatrist, to the mental hospital and worse to the cemetery.
• At early ages people begin to face gross and enormous obstacles in life.
• The only hope for all believers is that we can bring all our troubles to our all-powerful, all-knowing, all-able, ever-present God.

Mt 11:28-30

28 Venez à moi, vous tous qui êtes fatigués et chargés, et je vous donnerai du repos.

28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Prenez mon joug sur vous et recevez mes instructions, car je suis doux et humble de coeur; et vous trouverez du repos pour vos âmes.

29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 Car mon joug est doux, et mon fardeau léger.

30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Ps 121:

1 ¶ Cantique des degrés. Je lève mes yeux vers les montagnes… D’où me viendra le secours?

2 Le secours me vient de l’Éternel, Qui a fait les cieux et la terre.

3 Il ne permettra point que ton pied chancelle; Celui qui te garde ne sommeillera point.

4 Voici, il ne sommeille ni ne dort, Celui qui garde Israël.

5 L’Éternel est celui qui te garde, L’Éternel est ton ombre à ta main droite.

6 Pendant le jour le soleil ne te frappera point, Ni la lune pendant la nuit.

7 L’Éternel te gardera de tout mal, Il gardera ton âme;

8 L’Éternel gardera ton départ et ton arrivée, Dès maintenant et à jamais.

Ps 121:1 ¶ <A Song of the going up.> My eyes are lifted up to the hills: O where will my help come from?

2 Your help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

3 May he not let your foot be moved: no need of sleep has he who keeps you.

4 See, the eyes of Israel’s keeper will not be shut in sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.

6 You will not be touched by the sun in the day, or by the moon at night.

7 The Lord will keep you safe from all evil; he will take care of your soul.

8 The Lord will keep watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time and for ever.

• The scriptures are to be taken literally when trials are nearing the children of God.

• These are not empty words to smooth your conscience in time of trouble.

• These are weapons of mass destruction to launch in the camps of the devil in efforts to counter his attacks.

Qui peut m’aider, sinon Jésus.

Pour un refuge sûr trouver?

Ayant besoin un ami pour m’aider

Qui prendre, sinon Jésus-Christ?

Nous vivons en de très bons termes

Mais quand mon âme

A soif de paix suprême

Qui peut m’aider, sinon Jésus?

Auprès de bon parents

Qui m’entourent bien tendrement

Mais de la mort

Quand mugit le torrent

Qui peut m’aider, sinon Jésus?

Si vous êtes enfants de Dieu, nous n’avez qu’à vous adresser à votre Père Céleste.

En cas d’urgence : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

En cas de maladie : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

En cas d’insécurité : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

En cas de famine : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

En cas de mal-cité : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

En cas d’accident : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

En tout cas et en toutes circonstances : CRIEZ A L’ETERNEL !

Psaume 120 :1

Dans ma détresse, c’est à l’Éternel Que je crie, et il m’exauce

In my trouble my cry went up to the Lord, and he gave me an answer.

Lè m’ te nan tray, mwen te rele Seyè a, li te reponn mwen.

• God has a million of ways to attend to you in your problems.
• If you are a child of God, all you have to do is what David did. Call on Him and rest assured that He will answer you.
• You may have to be patient
• You may have to be attentive
• You may have to be proactive
• One thing I know for sure is that your prayers will be answered.
• Don’t hold back: Have a little talk with Jesus

Now let us have a little talk with Jesus
Let us tell Him all about our troubles
He will hear our faintest cry and we will answer by and by
Now when you feel a little prayer wheel turning
You’ll know a little fire is burning
You will find a little talk with Jesus makes it right
