LA VISION DE DANIEL DES QUATRE ANIMAUX SORTANT DE LA MER

DANIEL’S VISION OF THE FOUR BEASTS COMING OUT OF THE SEA

(Suite 3) (DANIEL 7)

LES 4 ÈTRES SORTANT DE LA MER

Amos 3:7 Car le Seigneur, l’Éternel, ne fait rien Sans avoir révélé son secret à ses serviteurs les prophètes.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

DANIEL 7: 1-28

• It is supposed that Daniel had this dream about forty-eight years after Nebuchadnezzar had the vision of the great image. ACC
• Daniel was still in Babylon when he had this great vision of the four beasts coming out of the see.
• Notice that Daniel wrote the vision down for he knew it was important.
• Da 7:1 ¶ La première année de Belschatsar, roi de Babylone, Daniel eut un songe et des visions de son esprit, pendant qu’il était sur sa couche. Ensuite il écrivit le songe, et raconta les principales choses.
• Daniel’s vision was even more graphic but he only explained the main parts of the vision.
• God is still in the vision’s business and we need to be very attentive to our dreams.

2 Daniel commença et dit: Je regardais pendant ma vision nocturne, et voici, les quatre vents des cieux firent irruption sur la grande mer.

• Some interpret the four winds as impetuous people battling for dominance.
• The sea is interpreted as the world filled with people.
• The world powers rise out of the agitations of the political sea JFB
• The four WINDS symbolize: agitations, provocations, conflicts from all directions affecting the whole globe.
• Peaceful times should never be taken for granted.
• We need to be thankful to God for times of peace.
• Out of nowhere, winds of trouble can erupt our calm ocean.

3 Et quatre grands animaux sortirent de la mer, différents l’un de l’autre.

• But the “beasts” here represent the world powers, in their beast-like, creepy character. JFB
• All the 4 great kingdoms most influential in human history are reflections of the demons who ruled them.
• The beast-like appearances reflect the manners and the philosophies by which these kingdoms operate.
• All evil but all distinct from one another. 
• The four BEASTS can be viewed as evil leaders or evil spirits that embody the human leaders.
• Les temps fâcheux produisent souvent des leaders intempérants et cruels.
• 4 Le premier était semblable à un lion, et avait des ailes d’aigles; je regardai, jusqu’au moment où ses ailes furent arrachées; il fut enlevé de terre et mis debout sur ses pieds comme un homme, et un cœur d’homme lui fut donné.
• A lion in character with Eagle’s wings meaning swiftness and dominance.
• The first beast was the Assyrian and Chaldean empire. (Babylonian)
• Their quick rise to power was as if they had wings to fly.
• Both lions and eagles dominate in their spheres.
• When the two animals are combined as one the byproduct is certainly a fierce beast.
• The wings plucked off mean that the divine element that caused their dominance was taken away.
• The Babylonian Empire was reduced to a regular nation and his ruler to a simple man.
• God is the one who elevates people.

Ps 89:19-20

19 ¶ Alors tu parlas dans une vision à ton bien-aimé, Et tu dis: J’ai prêté mon secours à un héros, J’ai élevé du milieu du peuple un jeune homme;

20 J’ai trouvé David, mon serviteur, Je l’ai oint de mon huile sainte.

Daniel 7:5 Et voici, un second animal était semblable à un ours, et se tenait sur un côté; il avait trois côtes dans la gueule entre les dents, et on lui disait: Lève-toi, mange beaucoup de chair.

• A bear; fierce and cruel.  This symbolizes the empire of the Medes and Persians.
• Three ribs; a symbol of the prey which it had already taken.  FBN (Family Bible Notes)
• (d) Meaning the Persians who were barbarous and cruel. (e) They were small in the beginning, and were shut up in the mountains, and had no strength. FBN
•  6 Après cela je regardai, et voici, un autre était semblable à un léopard, et avait sur le dos quatre ailes comme un oiseau; cet animal avait quatre têtes, et la domination lui fut donnée.
• Meaning Alexander the king of Macedonia.
• That is, his four chief captains, which had the empire among them after his death. 
• Selencus had Asia the great,
• Antigonus had Asia the less,
• Cassander and after him Antipater was king of Macedonia,
• and Ptolemeus had Egypt. Geneva Bible Note
• 7 Après cela, je regardai pendant mes visions nocturnes, et voici, il y avait un quatrième animal, terrible, épouvantable et extraordinairement fort; il avait de grandes dents de fer, il mangeait, brisait, et il foulait aux pieds ce qui restait; il était différent de tous les animaux précédents, et il avait dix cornes.
• This animal bears no resemblance to no other animal known on earth.
• (l) That is, the Roman empire which was a monster, and could not be compared to any beast, because there was no beast that was even comparable.
• (m) Signifying the tyranny and greediness of the Romans. GBN
• Striking similarities exist between Nebucadnetsar’s dream and that of Daniel’s
• Dans Daniel chapitre 2, la grande statue était fait d’or, d’argent, de bronze, et de fer et un rocher surnaturel brisait la statue pour régner à sa place.
• Daniel chapitre 7, les quatre animaux étaient : un lion. Un ours, un léopard, et une bête qui avait dix cornes. Tous ces animaux ont été anéantis par l’Ancien des Jours
• 8 Je considérai les cornes, et voici, une autre petite corne sortit du milieu d’elles, et trois des premières cornes furent arrachées devant cette corne; et voici, elle avait des yeux comme des yeux d’homme, et une bouche, qui parlait avec arrogance.
• La petite corne symbolisant un pourvoir qui n’est pas forcément à caractère militaire.
• La petite corne était arrogante et prononçait des blasphèmes contre Dieu.
• La petite corne fit la guerre aux saints.
• Among Protestant writers this is considered to be the popedom. ACC (la papauté)

9 ¶ Je regardai, pendant que l’on plaçait des trônes. Et l’ancien des jours s’assit. Son vêtement était blanc comme la neige, et les cheveux de sa tête étaient comme de la laine pure; son trône était comme des flammes de feu, et les roues comme un feu ardent.

10 Un fleuve de feu coulait et sortait de devant lui. Mille milliers le servaient, et dix mille millions se tenaient en sa présence. Les juges s’assirent, et les livres furent ouverts.

•  11 Je regardai alors, à cause des paroles arrogantes que prononçait la corne; et tandis que je regardais, l’animal fut tué, et son corps fut anéanti, livré au feu pour être brûlé.
• When the dominion was taken from the rest of the beasts, their bodies were not destroyed, but suffered to continue still in being;
• but when the dominion shall be taken away from this beast, his body shall be totally destroyed; because other kingdoms succeeded to those, but no other earthly kingdom shall succeed to this.-Bishop Newton. ACC

12 Les autres animaux furent dépouillés de leur puissance, mais une prolongation de vie leur fut accordée jusqu’à un certain temps.

•  c’est Dieu qui place le terme à chaque nation.
• C’est Dieu qui abaisse et qui élève les hommes.
• C’est Dieu qui  accorde le laissez-faire à chaque nation.

12 Les autres animaux furent dépouillés de leur puissance, mais une prolongation de vie leur fut accordée jusqu’à un certain temps.

 13 Je regardai pendant mes visions nocturnes, et voici, sur les nuées des cieux arriva quelqu’un de semblable à un fils de l’homme; il s’avança vers l’ancien des jours, et on le fit approcher de lui.

14 On lui donna la domination, la gloire et le règne; et tous les peuples, les nations, et les hommes de toutes langues le servirent. Sa domination est une domination éternelle qui ne passera point, et son règne ne sera jamais détruit.

 15 ¶ Moi, Daniel, j’eus l’esprit troublé au dedans de moi, et les visions de ma tête m’effrayèrent.

16 Je m’approchai de l’un de ceux qui étaient là, et je lui demandai ce qu’il y avait de vrai dans toutes ces choses. Il me le dit, et m’en donna l’explication:

 17 Ces quatre grands animaux, ce sont quatre rois qui s’élèveront de la terre;

18 mais les saints du Très-Haut recevront le royaume, et ils posséderont le royaume éternellement, d’éternité en éternité.

• In some instances, it feels as if the author is referring to the Jewish nation by stating the saints of the Most High.
• In other cases, it seems to refer to the church.
• And in another angle it seems to refer to all the redeemed of the Lord.

 19 Ensuite je désirai savoir la vérité sur le quatrième animal, qui était différent de tous les autres, extrêmement terrible, qui avait des dents de fer et des ongles d’airain, qui mangeait, brisait, et foulait aux pieds ce qui restait;

20 et sur les dix cornes qu’il avait à la tête, et sur l’autre qui était sortie et devant laquelle trois étaient tombées, sur cette corne qui avait des yeux, une bouche parlant avec arrogance, et une plus grande apparence que les autres.

 21 Je vis cette corne faire la guerre aux saints, et l’emporter sur eux,

22 jusqu’au moment où l’ancien des jours vint donner droit aux saints du Très-Haut, et le temps arriva où les saints furent en possession du royaume.

• Ancient of days is a name reference for God.
• God does not alter the record to hide the fact that will saints will suffer in this world.
• There have been times of great persecutions of Jews and Christians in the past.
• In recent years it seems that Jews and Christians’ persecutions are climaxing again.
• If the forth kingdom is consistently Rome in both Nebucadnetsar’s and Daniel’s vision, then the horn will be associated to the Roman Empire.
• 23 Il me parla ainsi: Le quatrième animal, c’est un quatrième royaume qui existera sur la terre, différent de tous les royaumes, et qui dévorera toute la terre, la foulera et la brisera.
• The fourth beast is represented as the strongest and most terrible of them all, which cannot apply to any other than the Roman power. FBN

 24 Les dix cornes, ce sont dix rois qui s’élèveront de ce royaume. Un autre s’élèvera après eux, il sera différent des premiers, et il abaissera trois rois.

 25 Il prononcera des paroles contre le Très-Haut, il opprimera les saints du Très Haut, et il espérera changer les temps et la loi; et les saints seront livrés entre ses mains pendant un temps, des temps, et la moitié d’un temps.

• ” So St. Jerome quotes from Symmachus. To none can this apply so well or so fully as to the popes of Rome.
• They have assumed infallibility, which belongs only to God.
• They profess to forgive sins, which belongs only to God.
• They profess to open and shut heaven, which belongs only to God.
• They profess to be higher than all the kings of the earth, which belongs only to God.
• And they go beyond God in pretending to loose whole nations from their oath of allegiance to their kings, when such kings do not please them!
• And they go against God when they give indulgences for sin. This is the worst of all blasphemies!  ACC

26 Puis viendra le jugement, et on lui ôtera sa domination, qui sera détruite et anéantie pour jamais.

 27 Le règne, la domination, et la grandeur de tous les royaumes qui sont sous les cieux, seront donnés au peuple des saints du Très-Haut. Son règne est un règne éternel, et tous les dominateurs le serviront et lui obéiront.

28 Ici finirent les paroles. Moi, Daniel, je fus extrêmement troublé par mes pensées, je changeai de couleur, et je conservai ces paroles dans mon cœur.

CONCLUSION

• The Children of Israel as the church have known some pretty horrible times of persecution that reflect the visions of Daniel.
• The church as well as Israel is set for more troublesome days in the future.
• In reading Daniel, the world indeed seems like a hostile and inhabitable place for the chosen of God.
• It feels as if the saints of God will always be battling an active volcano of persecutions in one form or another regardless of the era they live in.
• Bear yourselves Christians, for more clashes with the devil until God put Satan and his angels under our feet as promised.
• Although the book of Daniel contains many more visions of importance, for the sake of time, we will only limit ourselves to one more message on the subject.
• Keep your eyes open on the Bible and on current events so that you can remain vigilant.
• Que Dieu suscite encore des Daniel(s) pour nous aider à interpréter les événements de notre temps.
• Que Dieu envoie encore des anges à notre secours.
• Qu’il en soit ainsi pour vous et que Dieu vous Bénisse.
• AMEN !
