PAS DE PLACE A L’HOTEL POUR MARIE ET JOSEPH

CHRIST THE ROCK CONGREGATION

SUNDAY DECEMBER 23RD 2018

Sermon by pastor Marc E Simeon

DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE REFUSING A ROOM IN THE HOTEL?

CONNAISSEZ-VOUS A QUI VOUS REFUSEZ UNE CHAMBRE A L’HOTELLERIE?

ESKE-W KONNEN KI MOUN OU DI « PA GEN PLAS NAN OTÈL-LA » ?

LUC 1 :1-7

Lu 2:1 ¶ And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.

3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.

4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,

5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

INTRODUCTION

IMAGINE MARY BEING REFUSED A ROOM IN THE HOTEL TO GIVE BIRTH TO HER BABY “THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD”

o   Imagine that you are carrying in your belly the most important person that will ever set foot on this earth

o   Imagine that you need a room to give birth to the child who will change the history of the world forever

o   Imagine that your are carrying the Creator of this world in your belly

o   Imagine that you are carrying the only Begotten Son of God in your belly

o   Imagine that you are carrying the Last Adam upon whose shoulder the whole government of the human race will rest.

o   Imagine that you are carrying the child who has all authority from heaven and earth invested in Him

o   Imagine that you are carrying the child who will conquer death

o   Imagine that you are carrying the child who will defeat Satan and restore the dominion back to humanity

o   Imagine you are carrying the child whose conception no human father played any part

o   Imagine you are carrying a child announced by one of God’s most powerful angel

o   After a long journey, at your greatest point of destitute for someone to tell you that there is no room.

o   Imagine that you are in labor when mothers are allowed to say whatever they want and no one will take offense

o   Imagine that the contractions growing in numbers and strength

o   You are down to the last hotel and the answer is the same, “there is no room, go somewhere else”

IMAGINE A DIFFERENT MARY, A BRAZILIA, BEING REFUSED A ROOM IN THE HOTEL TO GIVE BIRTH TO HER BABY”THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD”

o   Imagine the showdown the wrong Mary would give at that hotel.

o   First of all, I want to see your manager:

o   Do you know who you are talking to?

o   Do you know what the father of this child can do to you?

o   Do you know what will happen to your cheap little hotel if I am not given a room in five minutes?

o   Have heard of Sodom and Gomorrah?

o   Have you heard of the ten plagues of Egypt?

o   Do you know that the child in my belly is the King of all kings for all eternity?

o   Are you still sure, you don’t have a room?

o   What if king Herod showed up, would you dare tell him you have no room?

o   What if the emperor Caesar Augustus showed up here, would you dare say to him, you don’t have a room?

o   I don’t care what you do; my baby will not be born in the street, less to say a stable.

o   The wrong Mary would bring so much drama in that hotel that the whole town of Bethlehem would be upside down.

o   People would be kicked out of their rented rooms to make way for the she devil to deliver the child.

o   We would have a Savior that was born with high class

o   Only the most prestigious nurses would be the ones allowed to touch Him.

o   The birth of Jesus would forever be synonymous to high class

o   Only the rich and famous would be able to claim him as their own.

THE BIRTH OF JESUS

o   The true Marie was so humble that Bible has no record of any drama between at the hotel except that there was no room.

o   By divine arrangement, the baby was to be born as a commoner

o   By divine arrangement the baby was to be born in Bethlehem

o   By divine arrangement the hotel would be full

o   By divine arrangement the shepherds were the only ones invited.

o   Now we have a common Savior who came from the highest throne of heaven to the lowest class of people on earth.

o   We have a Savior that all classes can embrace

o   We have a Savior that all races can embrace

o   We have a Savior that Jews and Gentiles can call upon for salvation

o   Although his birth was not celebrated by the highest human orchestra, but the heavenly choir came down to worship Him

o   Although the dignitaries of the human race had no part in his birthday party, but the human race was represented by the lowly shepherds.

o   Although the religious leaders were walking away from the celebration of his birth, the magi took a long trip to come to worship him and bring Him gifts.

o   The unsaved will keep the birthday going because the angels prophesied that the news of the birth of Jesus will bring joy to all,

CHRISTMASS IS A HOLIDAY FOR ALL MANKIND

Lu 2:8 ¶ Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.

10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

11 “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Lu 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

  • The shepherds were not forcibly all religious people
  • The shepherds were not forcibly all Jews
  • The magi were definitely not Jews
  • The magi represented the most unexpected guests at Jesus’ birthday party
  • The magi were a judgment to the Jewish people who have missed the day of their visitation.

CONCLUSION

  • Whether you come to the party or not, the birthday of the King Jesus will be celebrated year after year.
  • Whether you like it or not, The Savior of the world will be celebrated by the whole world.
  • If the elects keep silent, the magicians will come from all parts of the world and give the most fitted party to the King of kings.

KEEP THE CHRIST IN CHRISTMASS

  • As Christians, our Job is to keep the Christ in Christmas
  • seize the occasion to talk about the significance of the first coming of Jesus
  • Take time to pounder on the wonder of the incarnation of the Creator of the world inside a human body.
  • Take hold of the season to instruct the children about the ultimate love of God toward humanity.
  • As the ones who benefit the most from the coming of Christ, lets us be the most zealous to sing Happy birthday to Jesus.

40 Fr. CE:  Dans Les Champs le Berger Veille

1-

Et sous la voute éternelle le berger reste isolé;
