DIEU NE PEUT PAS MENTIR / GOD CANNOT LIE

Tit 1:1-2 ¶ Paul, serviteur de Dieu, et apôtre de Jésus-Christ pour la foi des élus de Dieu et la connaissance de la vérité qui est selon la piété,

 2 lesquelles reposent sur l’espérance de la vie éternelle, promise dès les plus anciens temps par le Dieu qui ne ment point,

Tit 1:1-2 ¶ Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness,

 2 in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,

Nu 23:19 Dieu n’est point un homme pour mentir, Ni fils d’un homme pour se repentir. Ce qu’il a dit, ne le fera-t-il pas? Ce qu’il a déclaré, ne l’exécutera-t il pas?

 19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

2Ti 2:13 si nous sommes infidèles, il demeure fidèle, car il ne peut se renier lui-même.

 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (NKJV)

INTRODUCTION

• Some could rightly say that one of the biggest problems in our world today is the heavy presence of lies and deceptions in all human endeavors.
• It is so reassuring to find a truthful person.
• You can trust them with money, material possession, and leadership over all your businesses.
• Lie is so prevalent in our world that we develop all sorts of tricks and science to extract the truth out of people.
• The whole human justice system is to extract truth out of people.
• We invent lie detectors in order to fish the truth out of people involuntarily. But, some people have been trained to on how not to be detected by the lie detector.
• We hire detectives to catch people in the act in order to force them to admit the truth.
• We make people swear on the bible to get the truth, yet they lie all the more.
• We use torture and harsh treatment to spill the truth out of people most of the time to no avail.
• We compromise on punishment to encourage people to say the truth. Still they lie.
• We install cameras to catch video evidences in order to squeeze the truth out. Some people still claim their innocence regardless.

THE ORIGIN OF LIE

• It all started in the Garden of Eden.
• Mankind received his first lies from the lips of Satan himself who is the father of lies and deception.

Ge 3:4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

 5 “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Ge 3:4 Alors le serpent dit à la femme: Vous ne mourrez point;

 5 mais Dieu sait que, le jour où vous en mangerez, vos yeux s’ouvriront, et que vous serez comme des dieux, connaissant le bien et le mal.

• A lie is a pseudo true, a fake truth, something that resembles the true, but is not.
• A lie is a deception of the truth. A lie is a counterfeit of the truth.
• A lie is a replacement of the truth. A lie is an imaginary truth.
• A lie is the violation of the truth.

Joh 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (NKJV)

 44 Vous avez pour père le diable, et vous voulez accomplir les désirs de votre père. Il a été meurtrier dès le commencement, et il ne se tient pas dans la vérité, parce qu’il n’y a pas de vérité en lui. Lorsqu’il profère le mensonge, il parle de son propre fonds; car il est menteur et le père du mensonge. (LSV)

ALL MEN ARE LIARS / TOUT HOMME EST MENTEUR

• Not only was the human race a victim of lies, but we ourselves become the products of lies.
• The bible declares “All men are liars.”

Ro 3:4 Loin de là! Que Dieu, au contraire, soit reconnu pour vrai, et tout homme pour menteur, selon qu’il est écrit: Afin que tu sois trouvé juste dans tes paroles, Et que tu triomphes lorsqu’on te juge.

Ro 3:4 Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged.”

Ps 62:9 Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor. (NKJV)

 9 (62:10) Oui, vanité, les fils de l’homme! Mensonge, les fils de l’homme! Dans une balance ils monteraient Tous ensemble, plus légers qu’un souffle. (LSV)

• Some of the best liars carry the mantles of diplomats, strategists, politicians, negotiators, conciliators, lawyers, advocates, pastors and priests.
• Governments use lies as currencies.
• The business world uses lies as fuel.
• Every contract and policy is full of it.
• Every label on a product is saturated with lies. They should also put the percentage of saturated lies as they do for fat.
• Every advertisement is full of lie.
• It is the common denominator between the youngest babies to the older senior adults.
• Wars and bloodshed are justified with lies.

GOD CANNOT AND WILL NOT LIE

Joh 3:33 Celui qui a reçu son témoignage a certifié que Dieu est vrai;

Joh 3:33 “He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true

1Sa 15:29 Celui qui est la force d’Israël ne ment point et ne se repent point, car il n’est pas un homme pour se repentir. (LSV)

 29 “And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.” (NKJV)

• People lie out of fear of consequences; God is sovereign and is subjected to no one but Himself.
• People lie to project a good image about them; God has no flaws in Him.
• People lie to hide their shortcomings; God is omnipotent, nothing is impossible for Him.
• People lie to cause harms to others; God has no sin in Him and God cannot be tempted to commit sin.
• People lie to steer people to action; God is absolute and His enforced orders cannot be resisted

IF GOD CANNOT LIE THAN THE BIBLE IS FLAWLESS

• It feels good to know that there is one entity that cannot lie.
• Truth is one of the attributes or essence of God.
• The Word of God, the bible is without errors.
• All the bible promises are true.
• What the bible says about my origin is true.
• All that God says about eternity is true.
• Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life”.
• The virgin birth of Jesus is truth.
• The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus are true.
• The rapture of the church is true.
• The millennium Kingdom of Jesus on earth is true.
• My salvation is also true.
• Spending eternity in the presence of God is true.
• The destruction of the kingdom of Satan is true.
• The construction of a new earth and new heavens is also true.

Jas 1:17 toute grâce excellente et tout don parfait descendent d’en haut, du Père des lumières, chez lequel il n’y a ni changement ni ombre de variation. (LSV)

 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (NKJV) erroneous

BUILD YOUR FAITH ON GOD’S WORD

• Every true builder uses the lever in order to lay a straight and upright foundation.
• The bible is our compass in all matters of life.
• God’s word is a firm foundation upon which we built our faith.
• God’s word is a solid rock upon which we can anchor our past, present and future.
• Ps 119:105 ¶ Ta parole est une lampe à mes pieds, Et une lumière sur mon sentier.
• Ps 119:105 ¶ Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

CONCLUSION

• This message came as an answer to my recent prayers, as I was questioning the validity of some bible passages with respect to our present time.
• As an answer to my petition, God led me to this passage in Titus 1:2 “God cannot lie.”
• The power that was promised to the church was and is still true and so is the persecution of the church that was foretold.
• In other words the disciples were all over Satan and his minions and so was the devil ravaging their foundations with relentless attacks as he does today.
• If you find yourself in a situation you cannot understand, claim on the promises of God.
• Remember that God cannot lie.
• God will always have the last word in your situation.
• God will never leave you nor forsake you as promised.
• God’s word is true and Amen!
• The same way that God cannot lie, God cannot lose the battle.
• If you think that God is always going to answer your prayers the way you wish it, you will always be disappointed with God.
• God may or may not do what I wish, but God is not weak, and God cannot lie.  AMEN!
