FINDING THE POINT OF INTERCEPTION WITH GOD

Isa 55:6 ¶ Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

Jer 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

INTRODUCTION

• Many a time when I preach a message, it echoes the very experience that I am living at the time.
• Today, I will be talking about interception with God, or making contact with God.
• Making contact is like digging a well, the depth of the well is determined by how far own water is found.
• Being raised in a Christian home and having accepted Christ in my early childhood, I’ve had various levels of intimacy with God.
• Now that I am a pastor adequately versed in the Bible and in deeds, I wish that I could tell you that I am always walking around with a thick layer of God’s glory upon me.
• I struggle more and more to maintain balance in my intimacy with God than when I was a simple Christian.
• It explains a little because I am at the giving end where my reserve gets quickly depleted.
• In general, I find that God is harder to find these days regardless how diligently one tries to intercept with Him.
• I watch myself applying double the effort to get half the amount of God’s presence that I used to have and I am sure that I am not alone in this endeavor.
• Sometimes people have to dig the same well much deeper only to find less of the amount of water they used to find at first.

INTERCEPTION POINT DEFINITION

• I call the message” INTERCEPTION POINT WITH GOD” to barrow a geometrical term.
• The point where two lines from different axis intercept.
• DEFINITION: When two or more lines cross each other in a plane, they are called intersecting lines. 
• The intersecting lines share a common point, which exists on all the intersecting lines, and is called the point of intersection.
• Here, lines P and Q intersect at point O, which is the point of intersection. 

• One of the greatest disadvantages of a human being is his spiritual blindness.
• Although, we are members of the spirit family, man’s spiritual sight is the most underdeveloped part of his being.
• We may feel things spiritually but we don’t know what they mean.
• We sense spiritual activities, but don’t know how to assimilate them.
• When we sleep, our spiritual side gets very active, but we are too ignorant to translate the meanings of our interactions in the spirit world.
• It’s nothing short than a miracle that many of us get to believe in God.
• All the credits go to God when a human being awakens spiritually the proper way.
• Our relationship with God suffers great deficiencies due to our spiritual dullness.
• Christians manage to keep a relationship with God through faith in His word, but it remains a great gymnastic because we are gravitated by our five senses.
• We the children of God manage to hold on to God through prayer, Bible reading, meditation, and obedience.
• In spite of all our efforts and all our knowledge of God, and the disciplines we’ve learned over the years, we still can’t seem to find the interception point with God at times.
• Have you ever prayed and felt that the prayer didn’t go anywhere?
• Have you ever tried to read your Bible and your mind kept wandering to other things?
• Have you ever felt a big block between you and God in spite of all your ordeals to establish contact with Him?
• Someone would say, how do you know when you’re truly intercepting with God?
• I am not sure that one can answer this question for someone else, but I know that every time interception with God happens, you will not be able to deny it.
• It’s because, God will also communicate his presence to you.
• There is a transfer of energy that transcends your entire being when that happens.
• Back in the days, people would visit a prophet of God to ear the message of God.
• In the New Testament, everyone can partake in the divine grace to communicate directly to God without the help of a medium.
• An interception is a meeting place between two traveling objects.
• In interception we see two objects colliding into each other.
• Intentional interception requires a great deal of calculations.
• Think of a missile being launched to meet and destroy another missile in mid air.
• See an airplane getting refueled by another airplane in mid air.
• See a hunter shooting at a flying bird.
• Angle, speed, timing, distance, wind factors, weight and a lot of other calculations and factors are implemented for accuracy.
• What makes it more difficult in our interceptions with God is that the request may be denied by God and you may not even know it.

GOD INITIATED INTERCEPTIONS WITH MANKIND

• God desires for mankind to seek for Him.
• God says that I will allow human being to intercept with me if they are diligently seeking for me with all their heart.
• If they meet my requirements I will make myself available to them.
• For interception to happen between God and humanity, God has to scope really low to make Himself reachable to man.
• Intercepting with God is a spiritual affair.
• God manifested himself tangibly in the Garden of Eden so that Adam and Eve could behold his presence.

Ge 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (NKJV)

2Ch 7: 14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (NKJV)

• God has no problem locating us, the question is whether we ourselves can locate God.

Jer 23:24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the LORD; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.

COMMON STUMBLING BLOCKS TO INTERCEPTIONS WITH GOD

• The Bible is very explicit to show that intercepting with is not a mechanical operation like shooting an arrow in the air.
• God has to grant you access to His presence, otherwise, all efforts to reach Him will be abortive.
• While God can see our agonizing effort to establish contacts with Him, if we do not approach Him on His term, we will never find Him.
• When a person is living a live that contradictory to the will of God, God may block access to his prayers.
• Over and over we find that sin and disobedience to be the prime culprits in disrupting the intercepting process with God.

Proverbs 1:28-30, 33 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but   they will not find me.

 29 Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD,

 30 They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke.

33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.”

Job 35:12 There they cry out, but He does not answer, Because of the pride of evil men.

Isa 1 :15-18

15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

 16 ¶ “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil,

 17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.

 18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

Mic 3:4 Then they will cry to the LORD, But He will not hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, Because they have been evil in their deeds.

Jas 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Isa 59:1-2 ¶ Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear,

2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

HOW TO ENSURE ACCURATE INTERCEPTIONS WITH GOD

Isa 55:6 ¶ Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

Jer 29:13 Vous me chercherez, et vous me trouverez, si vous me cherchez de tout votre cœur.

• Intercepting with God can be compared to the GPS operation.
• When seeking best signals, obstructions must be avoided.
• Sin is the greatest stumbling block in our effort to intercept with God.
• GPS has become indispensable in our lives today.
• Many take this innovative invention for granted.
• Satellites are scattered in precise locations in space all over the globe.
• The GPS unit searches to know its own location in the globe with respect its interceptions to the various satellites.
• Once the point of departure is identified, then it becomes easy to map a way to get to the destination.
• The GPS maintains constant communication with the satellites to be informed of its global position.
• Our heart is the GPS unit and God is the satellite and the computer.
• For proper operation, we need to be in constant communication with God.
• The GPS must be charged and turned on.
• Some phone companies won’t allow the GPS to function if you are not current with your payment.
• The GPS signal is free, but other factors may affect the operation.
• By faith in the GPS we can embark in long trips without worrying of getting lost.
• The modern GPS advise you on traffic conditions.
• The modern GPS can be your greatest spy as well.
• The modern GPS can prevent you from seeing certain roads.
• I always prefer to use the old GPS or both.
• Accurate interception with God requires spiritual discernments and spiritual disciplines.
• You need to make the adjustments necessary for the interception, which includes change of location, avoidance of obstructions, proper angle, proper launching power.
• Don’t wait for God to do all the work to make the interception possible.

BENEFITS OF CONSTANT INTERCEPTIONS WITH GOD

• When you intercept properly with God:
• You will know exactly where you are with respect to His will.
• You will be updated on Satan’s traps.
• You will be advised the perfect will of God in every situation.
• You will be instructed of futile moves than can cause you unnecessary delays in life.
• You will be instructed if you are running on time.
• You will have the advantage on others who are just trying to figure life out.
•  The interception with God that I am talking about is not for the purpose to cross over God, but in order to plug into God.
• It is to extract blessings out of the God who is the source of life.
• It is to be tuned, balanced, and programmed by the Creator God.
• When a true interception with God is not established, it is easily detected.
• You find yourself operating on the power of the flesh, by memory, by guessing, by dull repetitions, and by improvising.
• You will feel fake, blank, and empty.
• Even your service to God will be done with fake energy, fake fire, fake zeal, and fake emotions.
• The benefit of intercepting with God is to secure a dwelling experience with God.
• Joh 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

CONCLUSION

• Today we talked about making interception with God.
• The allusion we were trying to make is similar to the GPS in search for satellite signal.
• It is similar to digging a well deeper in order to reach the water level.
• It is as having a long extension electrical cord in search for the power source.
• It is like the root of a tree piercing deeper and deeper in the earth in search for water.
• It is the yearning of the soul to have a meaningful and satisfying relationship with God.
• It is the determination to reach a high level of intimacy with God that is uncommon to most.
• It is applying all your will power and strength to find God as people of old used to find Him.
• If you are on that pilgrimage to truly intercept with God in this day and age, brace yourself for a battle.
• Touching God as reaching a landmark is not the objective, but abiding henceforth with God is the challenge.
• I encourage each one of you to find that interception point with God.
• Daniel had found it through a life of prayer and righteous living.
• Joseph had found it through a life of righteous living and faith in God.
• God is always available for interceptions with all His Children; it’s up to us to see if we really want to pay the price to achieve it.
• Never settle for anything less than true interception with God.
• May God help you to understand and assimilate this message!
