• All eyes are on the winner
• The winner becomes the ambassador for the Game or the sport
• In all generation we see God in the lookout for key people
• Many a times God is searching for just one person
• When God is up to something Big, He aims at just one person
• Not necessarily a male but a person, male or female
  • God chose Adam to begin the human race
  • God chose Noah to save the human race from extinction
  • God chose Abraham to be the father of a holy nation from which to send the Christ
  • God chose Jacob to begin the nation of Israel
  • God chose Joseph to save his people
  • God chose Moses to get the Israelites out of bondage
  • God chose Joshua to get Israel to the Promised Land
  • God Chose Samuel to save his generation
  • God chose David to become the line of the Messiah
  • God chose Esther to save the Jewish people
  • God Chose Nehemiah to rebuild the wall
  • God Chose John the Baptist to become the forerunner of the Christ
  • God chose Peter to be the Apostle of the Jews
  • God Chose Paul to impact Christianity
• God is still in the business of looking for people
• God still has many assignments to be done on earth
• God is looking for you
• God has a specific assignment for you
• God has a mission on earth that only you can accomplish

In Jeremiah 6:1-2 God was in desperate need of a man.

• A man with good credit
• A man he could trust
• He sent out a team looking for that man, but alas! that man was nowhere to be found

Jeremiah 5

 ¹ Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that doeth justly, that seeketh truth; and I will pardon her.

 ² And though they say, As Jehovah liveth; surely they swear falsely.

Ezekiel 22: 29-31

²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the sojourner wrongfully.

 ³⁰ And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.

 ³¹ Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

²⁹Le peuple du pays se livre à la violence, commet des rapines, opprime le malheureux et l’indigent, foule l’étranger contre toute justice.

    ³⁰Je cherche parmi eux un homme qui élève un mur, qui se tienne à la brèche devant moi en faveur du pays, afin que je ne le détruise pas; mais je n’en trouve point. ³¹Je répandrai sur eux ma fureur, je les consumerai par le feu de ma colère, je ferai retomber leurs oeuvres sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

• In Ezekiel 14: 19-20,  God made an exception of the rule to show how angry he was.
• The exception was that righteous men like Noah, Daniel, Job could not get God to change His mind.

In other places in the Bible it is pretty consistent that God grants favor to people on account of someone else.

In Genesis 18: God nearly saved Sodom because of the intercession of Abraham

In Ezekiel 22 God was looking for a man so that he would spare Israel.

May be God wants to stand in breach for

• your family
• Your community
• Your church
• Your school
• Your place of employment
• Your generation
• Your country
• Your race
• God is looking for individuals, not crowds
• You are either going to step in the plate or fail to.
• Every one of us has at least one assignment on earth that only you can do
• What you do or don’t do will determine the fate of many others.
• Start wherever you are.
• Don’t make excuses
• Some of you need to confess your failures to God today.
