COMMENT MAINTENIR LA PRÉSENCE DE DIEU DANS NOS CAMPS

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE PRESENCE OF GOD IN OUR CAMPS

LECTURE : DEUTÉRONOME 23 : 10-14

De 23:9 ¶ Lorsque tu camperas contre tes ennemis, garde-toi de toute chose mauvaise.

 10 S’il y a chez toi un homme qui ne soit pas pur, par suite d’un accident nocturne, il sortira du camp, et n’entrera point dans le camp;

 11 sur le soir il se lavera dans l’eau, et après le coucher du soleil il pourra rentrer au camp.

 12 Tu auras un lieu hors du camp, et c’est là dehors que tu iras.

 13 Tu auras parmi ton bagage un instrument, dont tu te serviras pour faire un creux et recouvrir tes excréments, quand tu voudras aller dehors.

 14 Car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, marche au milieu de ton camp pour te protéger et pour livrer tes ennemis devant toi; ton camp devra donc être saint, afin que l’Éternel ne voie chez toi rien d’impur, et qu’il ne se détourne point de toi.

INTRODUCTION

Why do hotels try to keep a clean appearance from the lobby all the way to the room?

1. To attract customers
2. To maintain customers
3. To have good ratings
4. To avoid insanities
5. To create an atmosphere of serenity
6. To stay ahead in the competition
7. To elevate the area, the zoning.
8. To cultivate a high standard in its employees and to maintain the status quo.
9. To leave a lasting impression on all
10. To satisfy the owner
11. Even if we could come up with one hundred valuable answers, the main answer would remain to attract and to maintain customers.
12. The hotels go out of their ways to get a good rating after you vacate their rooms in order to boost the confidence of prospects customers.
13. In the hospitality business, appearance, cleanliness and cordial services are paramount.
14. It is said that “cleanliness is next to godliness.”
15. Your business may have many clients, that there is one client you cannot afford to lose.
16. During the Exodus, the children of Israel were put on high scrutiny in order to maintain a special guest on board.
17. God’s very nature is holiness.
18. The angels proclaim “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty”.
19. This is to render that God is ultra holy.
20. God cannot tolerate disorder and filthiness, He will simply check out.
21. A lot of churches cannot understand this aspect of God.
22. People think they can offer mediocre service to God.
23. The church is not vacuumed, a bad odor coming of the toilets; the seats are filled with dust and stain.
24. The appearance is blasé and outdated
25. The people who are responsible for worship come to church unprepared.
26. People stand behind the pulpit to preach with gross sins in their lives.
27. Gossip, slanders and backbiting are going on.
28. People are not in speaking terms within the leadership of the church and through the congregation.
29. No animosity is spared during the business meetings.
30. People dress indecently to come to church.
31. The pulpit is made available to all sorts of sinners.
32. People use the pulpit to manipulate and to steal money out of people.
33. It is no wonder that the presence of God has departed from so many so called churches.
34. God is Holy. God requires holiness in his presence, or else, He will check out.

• Have you ever been in the house of a hyper clean person? It’s no fun for people like me.
• My wife can testify that I am not a candidate for the Nobel prizes of cleanliness; poor her.
• Some have white carpets to start with.
• Everything is sparkling and well organized like a showroom.
• Even the kitchen looks virgin.
• These kinds of perfections scare me to death.
• In settings like that, I spend so much time trying not to mess up, that I can hardly enjoy the stay.
• I had to spend a night in one of those houses some years ago where a sign was written in the bathroom “your mother does not live here, clean up after yourself”.

THE CONDITIONS FOR KEEPING GOD IN THE CAMP

• The children of Israel had to share the camp with a personality who dwells in holiness.
• Anything unpleasant could affect the presence of God.
• In the beginning of the chapter, God gave them a list of people they could not bring to the camp.
• Some because of their physical conditions and some because of their races.
• Some of the race restrictions can be lifted on the third generation, for others that remain in effect forever.

Deutéronome  23:1-3

1 ¶ Celui dont les testicules ont été écrasés ou l’urètre coupé n’entrera point dans l’assemblée de l’Éternel.

He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off,  (a) shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD. (Geneva Bible Note)

14 Car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, marche au milieu de ton camp pour te protéger et pour livrer tes ennemis devant toi ; ton camp devra donc être saint, afin que l’Éternel ne voie chez toi rien d’impur, et qu’il ne se détourne point de toi.

• Les enfants de Dieu doivent assimiler la sainte nature de Dieu.
• Dieu ne peut cesser d’être saint
• Dieu ne peut pas fonctionner en dehors de la sainteté.
• Dieu ne peut tolérer rien de souillé auprès de lui au point de vue spirituel et même au point de vue naturel et physique.

1Th 5:22 abstenez-vous de toute espèce de mal. 23 ¶ Que le Dieu de paix vous sanctifie lui-même tout entier, et que tout votre être, l’esprit, l’âme et le corps, soit conservé irrépréhensible, lors de l’avènement de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ!

• Si on veut bénéficier de  la présence et de l’assistance de Dieu, on doit s’attendre à faire des sacrifices pour maintenir une atmosphère plausible à la nature de Dieu.
• Pour conserver de la viande réclame des exigences.
• Pour conserver le lait, réclame des exigences.
• Là où il n’y pas de réfrigération, il faut assaisonner la viande et même la faire sécher.
• Il faut bouillir le lait et le servir à temps.
• Pour conserver de la glace, on avait l’habitude de creuser la terre et y mettre des fourrages comme protection.
• Le camp des Israéliens devrait être sanctifié à tout temps parce que Dieu y résidait avec eux.
• Les enfants de Dieu semblent perdre cette notion de la sainteté de Dieu.
• Il y a des gens qui vivent dans le concubinage et qui s’imaginent pouvoir maintenir la présence de Dieu dans leur foyer.
• Il y a des églises où on s’abuse pour expérimenter le shekinah de Dieu par de longues séances d’adoration alors que les musiciens et l’équipe de louange vivent en dehors de la volonté de Dieu .

HAVE IT GOD’S WAY TO RECEIVE GOD’S FAVOR

• If you want to benefit of the presence and the protection of God you must lead your life God’s way.
• God was in their midst to guarantee victories over their enemies.
• God was in their midst as a GPS to pave the way to the Promise Land.
• God was in their midst to feed them daily of the manna
• God was in their midst to protect them from diseases during their pilgrimage in the desert.
• God was in their midst to provide water for them and their animals.
• God was in their midst to protect them from the burning sun during the day.
• God was in their midst to provide light during the night.
• God was in their midst to block the curses that the nations were casting at them.
• God was in their midst to cast a dreadful fear to their enemies.
• It wasn’t the children of Israel that the nations feared, it was their God.
• It was their God who brought Egypt to its knees.
• It was their God enabled them to cross the Red Sea
• It was their God who showed up in Mount Sinai and shook the mountains.
• It was their God who brought springs of living waters in the desert.
• It was their God who even protected their clothes from decaying.

Php 1:9 ¶ Et ce que je demande dans mes prières, c’est que votre amour augmente de plus en plus en connaissance et en pleine intelligence

10 pour le discernement des choses les meilleures, afin que vous soyez purs et irréprochables pour le jour de Christ,

Ro 12:1 ¶ Je vous exhorte donc, frères, par les compassions de Dieu, à offrir vos corps comme un sacrifice vivant, saint, agréable à Dieu, ce qui sera de votre part un culte raisonnable.

2 Ne vous conformez pas au siècle présent, mais soyez transformés par le renouvellement de l’intelligence, afin que vous discerniez quelle est la volonté de Dieu, ce qui est bon, agréable et parfait.

1Co 6:19 Ne savez-vous pas que votre corps est le temple du Saint-Esprit qui est en vous, que vous avez reçu de Dieu, et que vous ne vous appartenez point à vous-mêmes?

20 Car vous avez été rachetés à un grand prix. Glorifiez donc Dieu dans votre corps et dans votre esprit, qui appartiennent à Dieu.

Ro 14:7 En effet, nul de nous ne vit pour lui-même, et nul ne meurt pour lui-même.

8 Car si nous vivons, nous vivons pour le Seigneur; et si nous mourons, nous mourons pour le Seigneur. Soit donc que nous vivions, soit que nous mourions, nous sommes au Seigneur.

1Co 3:16 ¶ Ne savez-vous pas que vous êtes le temple de Dieu, et que l’Esprit de Dieu habite en vous?

17 Si quelqu’un détruit le temple de Dieu, Dieu le détruira; car le temple de Dieu est saint, et c’est ce que vous êtes.

CONCLUSION

• We’ve seen the strict requirements of God as the conditions for Him to continue to abide within the camp of the Israelites.
• We’ve seen the benefits of the presence of God.
• Now, we need to understand that although we are in a different dispensation as to the Children of Israel, the nature of God remains the same.
• Maintaining the presence of God in our lives is still conditioned by holiness from our part.
• Take time to ponder upon the benefits of having God as a resident in your life.
• Always imagine that God is with you at all times.
• Always remember that our bodies are the temples of God.
• Wherever you are, you carry God with you.
• Whatever you are watching, you force God to watch the same.
• Whatever you say, you force God to hear.
• Whatever you are thinking, you force God to see.
• After enough insults, the Holy Spirit will check out.
• Think always of the benefits and the price to maintain the presence of God will be seen as miniscule and insignificant.
• May God add His blessings upon His words!
