NEW YEAR’S EVE SERVICE SERMON

PLEASE DO IT AGAIN LORD!
REVIVE US OH LORD!
Ps 80:17-19
17 Que ta main soit sur l’homme de ta droite, Sur le fils de l’homme que tu t’es choisi! 18 Et nous ne nous éloignerons plus de toi. Fais-nous revivre, et nous invoquerons ton nom.19 Éternel, Dieu des armées, relève-nous! Fais briller ta face, et nous serons sauvés!
Ps 80:17 Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.18 Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.19 Restore us, O LORD God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!
INTRODUCTION
If we must be honest, we would have to admit most of what we know about God is on account of others and not ourselves.
We know who God is on the accounts of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Samuel, David, Salomon, Daniel, Nehemiah, John The Baptist, Peter, Paul, and the others.
We know God through Sara, Anna, Ruth, Esther, Elizabeth, Marie and the others.
What about us? What legacy are we leaving behind to strengthen the faith of the future generations of Christians?
What will be said about our faith?
What will be said about our holy living?
What will be said about our sacrificial life for God?
What will be said about our generosity in advancing the Kingdom of God?
What will be said about our passion for the lost souls?
What will be said about our zeal for God?
What will be said about the kind of impact we would have made or fail to make in our time?
When all the saints will be called with respect to the generation they lived in, what will it be like when our generation is called?
I know that I am not satisfied with my contribution.
I am still trying to figure out what total reliance upon God is.
I am still trying to understand how a person like Prophet Elijah could develop such a bold faith in God.
I am still trying to grasp how the companions of Daniel stood up against the frightening king Nebudcanezzar.
We have much more at our disposal to stimulate our faith than they had.
We have more access to the written Word of God.
We have all the exploits that our predecessors in the faith as stimulus to generate our faith.
We have all the technologies available at our finger tips.
Yet, we are more passive and more adamant than they were.
We have the Holy Spirit of God residing in the inside of us and at our disposal.
We have the freedom to think, to speak, and to act, more so than all previous generations.
Yet, our generation is the least productive than all previous when it comes to God’s Kingdom.
We need to repent, and we need to beg God to do it again.
In psalm 80 we find a similar generation like ours, begging God for another touch.
They asked God to revive them.
They asked God to shine His face upon them.
They implored to God to restore them to their former states.
Ps 80:7 Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!

Ps 80:14 Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine (NKJV)
14 (80:15) Dieu des armées, reviens donc! Regarde du haut des cieux, et vois! considère cette vigne! (LSV)
18 Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.
18 Fais-nous revivre, et nous invoquerons ton nom.

If we hope to experience God in a higher dimension in 2020, we need to begin to pray like they did in Psalm 80.
We need to avow to God our destitute, our nakedness, and our hopelessness.
We need to beg God to send the latter rain of grace upon us.
Lord! Please shake the place again when we pray.
Lord! Please fill us with your glory again, so that even our shadow can bring healing to the sick.
Lord! Please give us the boldness again, so that it can be said that we have flipped the world upside down.
Lord! Please give us the love again that the primitive Church had at the beginning!
Lord! Please give us the conviction that the apostles had to defend the gospel from all who stood against it.
Lord! Please give us the gifts that you promised would be the portions of the church so that we can be effective again.
Please do it again Lord! We are desperate, and we are bankrupted.
We cannot continue to represent you in the state that we are.
As we enter this New Year Lord, please promise us a greater flow of your presence.

Que Des cris de triomphe et de salut s’élèvent à nouveau dans nos tentes ! AMEN !
Que l’on dise : La droite de l’Éternel est encore élevée parmi eux ! AMEN !
Que l’on dise nous que, la droite de L’Eternel manifeste à nouveau sa puissance parmi eux au cours de l’année 2020! AMEN !
Qu’il en soit ainsi et que daigne rependre sa grâce sur nous tout au cours du nouvel an ! AMEN !
