Sermon par past. Marc E Siméon
HAVE NOTHING OF THE DEVIL ON YOU OR IN YOU
Joh 14:30 (11) Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath (m) nothing in me.
31 “But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here. (NKJV)
- This passage was pronounced in one of Jesus’ most agonizing moment on earth.
- It was about time for Jesus’ rendezvous with Satan
- The prophecy of Genesis 3:15 was about to take place.
- The greatest battle of the mind was about to take place.
- It was on the Thursday before the Passover.
- Jesus Himself was about to be the Sacrificial Lamb.
- He has but a few hours before he was to be picked up from the Garden of Gethsemane.
- God had given Satan, the green light to tempt Jesus in the fullness of his strength and might.
- Before the session would be over. We will hear Jesus crying to the Father, “ if this is possible let this cup pass by me”
- We will see Jesus in great anguish of the soul.
- His sweat will be mixed with blood
- All hell would break loose on Him to try to deter Him from the spectacle of Calvary
- Jesus seemed to be nervous about the scene that was about to take place.
- He mounted His courage to open-up to His disciples.
- For the first time, the Master was going to be in need of their prayer.
- Satan would be clothed as the prince of this world.
- Satan had been preparing for that day for a long time.
- He certainly would like to order this scene by his dictate.
- Knowing that it was the will of the Father for Him to go to these trials for the salvation of humanity. Jesus knew that He was vulnerable where he was.
- Jesus knew that the best way to equip oneself in time of temptation is to be on your knees draining strength from above.
- Jesus knew that he needed isolation.
- Jesus knew that Satan works best in the midst of distraction and confusion.
- Jesus shines away from a premature fight with the devil and heads straight to the battle ground.
- At Gethsemane, Jesus was already in the rim waiting for the opponent.
- Jesus did not need introduction or explanation, he told Judas: “Whatever you came to do, just do it; I am ready.”
- I was gripped by anxieties and worries earlier; but now, I am ready.
- I have already told the Father, “not my will but thine.”
- After the prayer, I am now fully on board with the mission.
Joh 14:30-31
30 “I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
31 “But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here. (NKJV)
HE HAS NOTHING IN ME
- He has no grip on me
- He has no anchor in me
- He has no deposit in me
- He has no vice in me
- He won’t find no lie, no hate, no jealousy, no envy, and no duplicity in me.
- Satan is very nervous around Christians who are walking in holiness.
- Satan is paralyzed when he sees a Christian with a clean heart in prayer.
- Satan cannot permeate the lives of the children of God who are working in holiness except by strict permission from God.
- How much of the devil’s stuffs do you have in you?
- In what area is Satan lording over your life?
SIN GIVES ACCESS TO SATAN
Eph 4:26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. (NKJV)
ALL VICES GIVE ACCESS TO THE DEVIL IN OUR LIVES
- Cain had hatred in his hearth toward Abel his little brother and God warned him that sin was laying in his heart.
Ge 4:6 ¶ So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?
7 “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
8 ¶ Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
- David committed an abominable of killing an inocent man because he was overcome by lust.
- He was not in the battle field like he was supposed to be.
- He had plenty of time in his hand to explore a naked woman taking a bath.
- He knowingly committed adultery with a married woman.
- At last he managed to have her husband killed in the battle field in an effort hide his guilt.
- When sin is not casted out from the heart, sinful action will soon follow.
- All the disciples were susceptible to be the betrayer of Jesus but Judas was picked because of his vices.Judas was a thief.Judas was a hypocrite.Judas was a liar.Judas was traitor.
Lu 22:22 “And truly the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!”
FULL OBEDIENCE TO GOD IS THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID SATAN FROM STORING HIS STUFFS IN YOU
- Jas 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you..
Ro 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
- When you’re leaving a store and the beeper goes on at the door, they have a right to search your bag.
- If you have not stolen anything and you have your receipts with you, then you have no worries going through the door even if the alarm would go off.
- Ask God to help you to identify areas in your life that gives access to the devil.
- When Satan gets nothing of his in you, then you can ridicule him when you see him coming at you.
- May God help you to discover the secret of holiness in your spiritual warfare.
AMEN
